Demi Lovato has been a charitable busy girl.

Recently, she has been teaming up with U.S. Rep Patrick Kennedy to get Congress to pass a mental health lesigslation as Demi has an experience struggled with bipolar disorder a while ago. On September 4th, 2014 morning, she attended the convention at National Alliance on Mental Illness in Washington, D.C for the cause.

“Those of us here today know that mental illness has no prejudice. It affects people of every race, age, gender, religion and economic status. It doesn’t discriminate between Republicans or Democrats, either,” Lovato said, according to The Washington Post.

“We’ve seen increased attention to our country’s broken mental health system over the past few years, but we’ve seen very little action.”

“Today our message is very clear: it’s time for Congress to act for mental health by supporting the passage of a comprehensive mental health bill this year,” the singer continued.

We have some new photos of Demi during the convention. Check them out by clicking the image below.
