— Demi Lovato: The singer’s “Give Your Heart a Break” reaches the Hot 100’s top 20 (22-19) in its 14th week, fueled by advances on Hot 100 Airplay (22-17; 44 million all-format audience impressions, up 12%, according to Nielsen BDS) and Hot Digital Songs (28-25; 68,000 downloads sold, up 14%, according to Nielsen SoundScan). The Hot 100 jump is especially notable for the song’s co-writer, Billy Steinberg, who places an original composition in the top 20 for the first time since JoJo’s “Too Little Too Late” rose to No. 3 in 2006. The hooky melody of “Heart” should come as no surprise considering Steinberg’s history of hits, which includes the Hot 100 No. 1s “Like a Virgin” (fMadonna, 1984), “True Colors” (Cyndi Lauper, 1986), “Alone” (Heart, 1987) and “Eternal Flame” (the Bangles, 1989).
