No awkward blood here!

Just four days after Joe Jonas’s interview with Vulture (in which he shared some candid revelations about Demi Lovato), the 24-year-old attended a party in celebration of his ex-girlfriend. Nylon magazine threw a bash in West Hollywood for Lovato, their December cover girl, and Demi talked to omg! about her initial response to Joe’s article, which went into detail about their relationship as she struggled with drug abuse.

“My first reaction was, ‘Well that was stupid,'” the 21-year-old said with a laugh and continued by reiterating some of what she said in her tweet about the interview. “But we are always going to be in each other’s lives. I was with Nick [Jonas] today and they are family. I’ve known them since I was 14, 15 and I have a lot of love for them.”

When we pointed out that Joe’s frankness took guts, Demi showed her respect for it.

“It really did,” Demi nodded in genuine agreement. “He never shared his side of the story and what he had to go through when we were friends or whatever. I was like, ‘Choose your words more carefully next time, but whatever, you’re fine!'”

Although there was some shock value, most of the feedback Joe has received since the interview hit has been positive.

“You know, it’s been cool,” Joe told omg!. “I feel really blessed to have people responding in [a relatable] way. It makes me feel great, it makes me feel comfortable and at the end of the day it’s my story. Take it or leave it, if you don’t like it, it’s fine with me, I don’t really care!”

Joe, who recently split creatively with brothers Kevin and Nick, also told us he gave them a warning ahead of time about the article.

“I gave them the heads up,” Joe told omg!. “With something like that, you have to at least let them know, ‘Hey guys, this is coming out. I don’t want this to be too shocking.’ They had the best responses. Nick was like, ‘Hey this is your interview, speak your heart.'”

Joe, who is a pastor’s son, admitted that he’s “not religious in any way” during the essay, while also discussing issues ranging from purity rings to teenage dalliances. So how did Mom and Dad Jonas react about the article in question?

“Look, they were a little bit nervous,” Joe admitted to omg!. “Some of the things I think were a little bit jarring for them to have their son release. But they are supportive, and my dad says it best. You can’t change life. You have to be able to live your life and I always have respect for people that can talk about their life openly.”

No one knows that message better than Lovato. The singer/actress/”X Factor” judge can now add New York Times Best Selling author to her ongoing resume for “Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year,” a book in which she details some of her darker times.

“My fans are really incredible,” she told omg!. “They have been really supportive, it’s crazy. I love being honest with my fans.”

Going off of Joe’s sentiments, we asked Demi if she was nervous at all of her parents’ reaction upon release. “No, I’m an adult now,” she said. “I get to make the decisions myself.”

In fact, Demi is currently working on a memoir, which digs even deeper detailing her struggles that no one ever knew about. “I just have so much to say,” she told omg!. “I have so much built up that, like they said in ‘Mean Girls,’ it’s word vomit. Things come out. It’s uncontrollable. Luckily that’s why I will have different edits.”

The gorgeous “Neon Lights” singer joked with a smile: “So Joe better beware.”

Demi and Joe hung together the bash, presented by McDonalds, proving one dating myth wrong: You really can be friends with an ex.
