Recently during the press conference of X Factor Live Result Show night, SCM has the chance to catch up with Demi after the show and chatted to her about losing her her last two acts.

You lost two in one night!:

Yeah, that’s ok though because theres so many contestants that went on to succeed. Look at One Direction, biggest boy band in the world. Emblem 3 they performed tonight, they won a Teen Choice award not even a year later. I’m taking Fifth Harmony and Little mix on tour with me and they didn’t win the competition either. So I think this show is a platform for everybody. Its what they do AFTER the show. It’s interesting to see who works hard after the show and what happens then.

I saw Ellona’s body from the audience. She literally froze:

EVERYONE’S body did! People were booing because she shouldn’t go home. But on the bright side of things. I think that people that get that known and sent home. People that are really passionate like Rion, Sweet suspense and Ellona. I think it’s actually going to motivate them to work harder so I’m excited to see where they are going to go after this. It’s not the end.

Do you think that you’ll continue to work with Rion and Ellona after?:

I would be really really blessed if I was able to help mentor them in the real world. To have a lot of freedom with no time restraints. I would love to.

There was an amazing real moment when Carlito sang to your sister in the audience:

Yes! Wasn’t she hilarious? My sister is the opposite of me. Her whole room is pink. She loved it! She loves Carlito, so it was exciting to see her get her spot on the show as well. She loved it.

He had no idea it was her?

He had no idea! Even on the show he goes “That was your sister?” It was really funny.

Moving forward you don’t have to mentor anybody specific. Are you going to dabble in helping give advice along side the panel?

Yes absolutely! I really believe that with certain people I eventually want to manage people. I want to sign people to labels. I want to help develop artists. There are so many talented people out of this year that I think that is my goal to help develop these artists.

This seems like a very transformative year for you

It really is. It came to my mind that last year after working so hard, that I can do anything! I used to say “Well I can’t work this hard because I’m not going to get enough time to do this and this and this.” But after working harder and getting more into my recovery and being able to take on more work. I’m doing 2 tv shows on prime time and I have a book right now. The day that my book came out I was like “wait, I’m an author? When did this happen? What the $%&*. I have a nail polish line? Are you joking? All this stuff. The aspirations don’t stop. I continue to take meetings with people and try to create a business so one day I don’t have to be in front of a camera to make money.

You don’t like that?

I don’t. What’s funny is it’s fun to get glammed up. I used to love it. It was fun, with the paparazi I’d think “Oh my gosh I’m famous this is crazy!” But as I’ve gotten older I love the simplicity of a normal life. Every time I change my hair color it’s really nice because people don’t recognize me for a little bit. But I like it, but it’s not about that for me. It’s about the music. Maybe one day I’ll do like the gorilla’s do. I’ll put on a mask and try to disguise that it’s me.

You’ll like the breather of not being on TV until Season 4 then?

Wow it’s been 4 seasons! One without me but that’s crazy. It’s amazing.

Any resolutions for the New Year?

I don’t believe in resolutions. Because every day you can start. You don’t have to wait until the new year to start exercising more. You don’t have to wait until January 1st to start your diet. Start today. You don’t even have to start tomorrow. Start right now! That’s my outlook on life. It’s actually kind of the opposite. I’m trying to see how much I can do BEFORE the New Year.

The race is on!

The race is on and I’ve gotta finish things! I’m already working on my next album. I’m back in the studio working on Saturday. I’m SO excited to just create and hopefully be able to put out an album while I’m touring next year!  I’m touring South America and in the United states. and it’s my goal to make that world wide. But it also depends on what’s going to happen next year. I may do 5 shows. Who knows, it’s crazy.

You just gotta keep working at it. But you have to have a healthy balance as well. I make sure that I get nights off. And one day off a week. I used to do 70 shows in 90 days. Sometimes 2 shows a day. Now I’m at a place where I’m comfortable being able to say no and set boundaries. I know my limit. I’m REACHING my limit but I have January off, so I’m good.

Do you think Neon Lights is your Grammy moment?

Demi: I’m such a perfectionist. Every year I blow out the candles on my birthday cake for a grammy. And maybe now it wont come true because I said that but whatever. But that’s what I wish for. That’s my biggest dream in life. Even just to be nominated one day would be amazing. I get my hopes up and then I look back and think “Well that wasn’t grammy worthy!”  But every year I get my hopes up.

Congratulations on your success with Frozen:

Thank you! I saw Frozen in the theater. I went with a friend and when the credits played I was excited and took pictures of the screen! Nobody knows I’m here and that’s my song, I’m singing!

Are you looking forward to being an impartial judge?:

I am! I’m looking more forward to seeing what happens. Not so much being an impartial judge. I’m disappointed my contestants are out. But I’m really excited to see what happens in the next year with these contestants. Like I said, watching the finalist and the artists that come out of this show and do incredible things is more exciting to me. This is a period of time, what’s going to be forever?

Who are you rooting for?

I think Alex and Sierra are going to take it! I’m rooting for everyone. I want Carlito to win because he’s come from nothing and he’s worked so hard. He was in Menudo and he worked hard. With Restless Road they were crying yesterday because they got a standing ovation. They want this too. Jeff Gutt has a son. I rooted for him last year and he comes back. He gets eliminated before judges houses last year. This year he comes back and is in the Final 4! And Alex and Sierra are so talented. They are #1 on Itunes. It’s insane. Even if they don’t win they are going to succeed.
